  • Cultural experiences in the USA

    The Yummy Jobs team are spreading the word of Hersheypark and their summer work and travel program for 2015. This week Katie and Louise from Yummy Jobs travelled to Eastbourne and Oxford to meet with students who are keen to spend their summer working for Hersheypark. 

  • YJ visits Buxton

    A world of hospitality and culinary opportunities awaits students from the University of Derby, Buxton Campus. On the 10th February the Yummy Jobs Team attended a hospitality and culinary arts event at the University of Derby, located in the spa town of Buxton.  The YJ Team interacted with talented students looking to secure Summer Work and Travel placements for 2015 along with 12 month placement opportunities with some of the finest companies in the USA. Did we also mention that Royal Caribbean Cruise Line opportunities were also on show.  A world of opportunity awaits undergraduates and graduates with Yummy Jobs.

    During the event Nick from Yummy Jobs interacted with over 100 fantastic students looking to futher their hospitality career, whilst at the same time enhancing their education.  With the University of Derby's hospitality courses being ranked number one in the country by the guardian newspaper, there was no shortage of exceptional talent on show.

    Following on from the careers fair the Yummy Jobs Team was invited to host two guest seminars.  Obtaining a job and developing a career in the market today can be challening.  However the hospitality industry in the UK ranks as the 4th largest employer.  Yummy Jobs delivered two seminars that help a student identify their unique talent and win that Yummy Job.  Its all about brand you and how you market yourself to an employer.  What is your personal brand and what does it stand for?  Something to think about...

  • Cultural Exchange for Summer 2015

    This amazing summer work and travel program provides international students with the opportunity to experience cultural exchange in Hershey, Pennsylvania, USA.  As a participant on the program you will also spend your summer working for a world leading hospitality brand.  During this program you will work at either Hersheypark, the Boardwalk at Hersheypark or one of the fantastic resorts located at Hersheypark.  This unique opportunity will give participants an insight into hospitality at its best, offering you highly sought after experiences, along with the ability to share your culture and make friends for life.

    Participants will work in roles such as Lifeguarding, Food and Beverage and Attractions. Participants will be paid an hourly wage and will be guaranteed a minimum of 32 hours per week.

    Participants on the program will be required to obtain a J-1 Summer Work and Travel visa through Yummy Jobs and will be able to work for a period of time as outlined by Hersheypark.  Upon completion of the program, participants will have up to 30 days to travel within the United States.  Participants must then return to their home country upon completion of the program.

I have just graduated from Sheffield Hallam University gaining a 2.1 in Events Management.   • Nick's Royal Parks Half Marathon

    Our own Nick is running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on November 12th. Nick will be raising money for the Alzheimer’ Society to help fight against dementia and to raise awareness to support people who suffer from dementia.

    Nick agreed to present a Disney presentation dressed as a Disney princess of your choice if he reached his fundraising target.

    Of course we would not let this happen without the necessary photographs.

  • Happy Birthday Melissa

    The Yummy Jobs team hope you had an amazing American birthday in San Diego.

    San Diego State University is a global learning community and the perfect place to kick start a career with an international education. SDSU has made it to one of Americans major universities which stand out for its size, diversity and academic reputation and is voted number 3 to receive the most applications with 51,364 this year!

    SDSU is the third largest university in California and participants on the San Diego State University study opportunity have the chance to choose from a large variety of modules within their chosen certificate of -  Hospitality and Tourism Management, Communication and Media Studies or Advanced Hospitality Management.

    As part of SDSU, the American Language institute offers students many benefits including enrolment in university level classes as well as ALI English classes and all ALI students have many of the same privileges as SDSU students. This includes access to the library, cafes, restaurant, and health centre and to top it off a free membership to all sport facilities on campus.  The gym membership comprises of the use of the tennis courts, an Olympic size swimming pool, racquetball facilities, a climbing wall, dance classes and a bowling alley. Students can even learn how to surf, sail, water ski and wind surf at the Mission Bay Acquatic Centre.

  • Santa Catalina Participants Experience

    Santa Catalina Island International Program - an amazing summer experience just off shore of southern California.

    The Santa Catalina Island participants will move back to the UK shortly and we have loved hearing their stories along the way, from zip lining, to watching American sports and making trips to Los Angeles.

    The Santa Catalina Island summer program gives participants the opportunity to gain world class experience during their summer break from University. Participants on the Santa Catalina Island program can work in Food and Beverage or Hotel Operations. The program runs from June to September so there’s plenty of time to enjoy Island life, California, culture, sun and even travel the United States upon completion of the program.

    The participants on the Santa Catalina Island program have experienced unique cultural activities during their time with the company. The SCICo Team scheduled many employee outings during the summer including hummer tours and trips to mainland California where participants could visit attractions such as Disneyland Resort, as well as experience American food and culture.  The SCICo Team ensure participants experience the American culture through a mixture of activities that enhance their international experience

  • Cultural day

    Being an intern with Yummy Jobs has given me the opportunity to experience and explore London, the city that I adore. There are so many things to see, do and enjoy in London.

    I went on a cultural day to gain insight into the British culture and I can now say that I have learned a lot about the Britain, in particular London. The British culture is different than I had expected, not everyone is eating fish&chips and drinking tea all the time.

    Over three fantastic days, the Swiss Hotel Management School celebrated three graduation ceremonies with 403 students taking home awards from Higher Diploma to Master level.
