My name is Lorin Adams and I am from Ottawa, Canada. I travelled to Disney World on the International College Program in summer of 2010 and am so grateful for the incredible experience. It truly was the best, most remarkable summer of my life and without a doubt, it was a dream come true! I worked in Magic Kingdom Entertainment as a Character Attendant and loved every minute of it. Disney World has always been my favourite place to vacation but vacationing there has no match to working for the Mouse, continuing Walt’s legacy and being a part of the magic! Every single day, no matter what job you may be working in, you get to meet so many incredible people from all around the world. You will learn so much about cultures different from your own, and gain great experience working in customer service.
Yummy Jobs is also there to help you all along the way. They were really great at helping me out with any questions that I had, during and most importantly, before, the program. They were always quick to respond to my emails with helpful answers and suggestions, during the application process. It can defiantly be overwhelming going to a place all by yourself to live and to work, but Yummy Jobs helped to make me feel comfortable and ready to embark on this exciting new adventure! They were friendly and supportive, and really cared about each one of us. One of the most helpful things that Yummy Jobs did before the program was set up email lists of all of the Canadian students who were accepted for the program. This gave us all the chance to find out a little bit about one another before the program began, so we did not feel like we were going into this experience alone.
I would most definitely recommend the Disney International College Summer Program to anyone looking for an experience of a lifetime! Being a Walt Disney World cast members provides individuals with the opportunity to create magic for people each and every day! Though the pay is not astounding, you can not put a price on the experience that you gain and the memories and lasting friendships that you create. Working for Disney presents you with a chance to really do something wonderful and have the time of your life in the happiest place on earth! Not many people wake up in the morning and look forward to going to work, but when you work in Disney World, you cannot help but smile! So I thank Walt Disney World and Yummy Jobs for this amazing opportunity, and will definitely be applying for another program in the future!
