I am from the UK and particpated in the International Summer Work Program. I worked in Merchandise in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom. Whilst there I really enjoyed meeting the guests in the park and helping to make their holiday more special. One vivid memory for me was spending half an hour talking to a family from California about Pin Trading and Hidden Mickey's on the pins, then several days later their son remembered me whilst in one of the stores and came back to talk to me and show me all the pins he'd been collecting. I really loved taking photos of families all together and really valued the times when they would included me in their photos too.
There are not many jobs I know, where you can say that what I really enjoyed was just going into work each day and getting to know the other cast members I was working with. I learnt so much about other cultures from all over the world and got an inside look at how the company works. It's the Disney attention to detail and care that goes into everything that really blew me away. The experience has definately built my confidence and made me look at life in a different and more positive way.
I would recommend this program to others without hesitation because it has been the most rewarding and enjoyable experience I have ever been a part of. Every day is different, you gain so much from each one and the people there are so amazing. I definately appreciated the help from Yummy Jobs and have recommended people try your website when looking for an exciting experience for next summer. It was great to have received help when applying for my Visa, everything was explained to me step by step and there was lots of help when trying to understand any complicated forms.
Having done the Summer Work Program and thoroughly enjoyed it, I really didn't want to return home and am keen to apply for another Disney Program. I wondered if there was another program you could suggest or please help me with?
