Participants on the Cullasaja Club training and internship program will be able to experience unique cultural exchange activities.  As part of your program the Cullsaja Club Team will schedule many employee outings during your program.  From trips to nearby Atlanta for baseball games to Six Flags theme parks, the Cullasaja Team ensure you experience the American culture through a mixture of activites that enhance your international experience.

Eligibility Requirements for J-1 Interns

In order to qualify for this particular designation of the J-1 visa you must be:

  • Must be a foreign national who is currently enrolled full-time and pursuing studies in Tourism, Hospitality or Events at a degree or certificate granting post-secondary academic institution outside the United States


  • Graduated from such an institution no more than 12 months prior to your exchange visitor program start date
  • All participants must possess sufficient proficiency in English to participate on the program

Eligibility Requirements for J-1 Trainees

In order to qualify for this particular designation of the J-1 visa you must be:

  • A foreign national who has either a relevant degree or professional certificate from a foreign post-secondary academic institution and at least one year of prior related work experience in Hospitality, Tourism or Events This experience must have been acquired outside of the United States


  • Five years of work experience in the Hospitality field acquired outside the United States
  • All participants must possess sufficient proficiency in English to participate on the program

Participants on the Cullasaja Club Internship and Training Program will be required to submit the following fees: 

Program Fees:

  • 6 Month Full Placement Program Fee inclusive of visa sponsorship, medical insurance and support = £1,800.00 GBP
  • 6 Month and over full placement program fee inclusive of visa sponsorship, medical insurance and support  = £2,250.00 GBP

Additional Fees:

  • Criminal Background Check Fee = £85.00 GBP
  • U.S. Embassy Appointment Fee = $160.00 USD
  • U.S. SEVIS Fee = $190.00 USD
  • Courier delivery of passport = Free to £30.00 GBP
  • Return flight to the United States = Varies

Post-Arrival Fees:

  • Additional supporting funds between $350.00 USD to $750.00 USD are recommended

This Food and Beverage Internship provides training in food and beverage service in fine dining, casual dining, seasonal dining and banquet service. Participants will gain knowledge of member service and hospitality management as these skills relate to the private club industry.

Service internship provides a first-hand à la carte experience in many different forms of service. The individual will gain full experience with casual, formal, catered events both served and buffet.  The Club is casual to formal in a relaxed and family environment.  Candidates must be strong communicators and enjoy diverse responsibilities.

Participants should be enthusiastic about learning and increasing their skill in various food and beverage positions, as the summer progresses.  This internship can set the foundation to return as the Intern Supervisor the following season.

Culinary Arts interns learn to prepare food for fine dining, banquets, casual dining and seasonal dining outlets, and they also receive an introduction to pastry.

At the conclusion of the training program, the participant, together with the supervising manager, reviews and evaluates the internship experience and its applicability to the participants future career goals. The participant has the opportunity to identify and reflect on the specific training objectives accomplished over the course of the program and their effect on his or her individual career objectives and career opportunities. The participant takes part in the Club performance review process, which includes meeting with the supervising manager to discuss performance during the training period and to identify future areas to focus on for professional development.
