Participants on the Old Edwards Inn training and internship program will be able to experience unique cultural exchange activities.  As part of your program the Old Edwards Team will schedule many employee outings during your program.  From trips to nearby Atlanta for baseball games to Six Flags theme parks, the Old Edwards Team ensure you experience the American culture through a mixture of activites that enhance your international experience.

Eligibility Requirements for J-1 Interns

In order to qualify for this particular designation of the J-1 visa you must be:

  • Must be a foreign national who is currently enrolled full-time and pursuing studies in Tourism, Hospitality or Events at a degree or certificate granting post-secondary academic institution outside the United States


  • Graduated from such an institution no more than 12 months prior to your exchange visitor program start date
  • All participants must possess sufficient proficiency in English to participate on the program

Eligibility Requirements for J-1 Trainees

In order to qualify for this particular designation of the J-1 visa you must be:

  • A foreign national who has either a relevant degree or professional certificate from a foreign post-secondary academic institution and at least one year of prior related work experience in Hospitality, Tourism or Events This experience must have been acquired outside of the United States


  • Five years of work experience in the Hospitality field acquired outside the United States
  • All participants must possess sufficient proficiency in English to participate on the program

Participants on the Old Edwards Inn and Spa Internship and Training Program will be required to submit the following fees: 

Program Fees:

  • 12 Month Full Placement Program Fee inclusive of visa sponsorship, medical insurance and support = £2,250.00 GBP

Additional Fees:

  • Criminal Background Check Fee = £85.00 GBP
  • U.S. Embassy Appointment Fee = $160.00 USD
  • U.S. SEVIS Fee = $190.00 USD
  • Courier delivery of passport = Free to £30.00 GBP
  • Return flight to the United States = Varies

Post-Arrival Fees:

  • Additional supporting funds between $350.00 USD to $750.00 USD

The Old Edwards Inn J-1 Intern and Training Program provides university students and young professionals with the opportunity to train in the United States for a period of up to 12 months.  This program provides access to a AAA Four Diamond property, providing a unique insight into business practices that make Old Edwards Inn & Spa the number 2 resort in the USA.  The program provides on-the-job exposure within the following hospitality roles:

  • Food and Beverage
  • Rooms Division 
  • Culinary Arts

In addition to this unique learning experience, participants are able to increase their knowledge of and exposure to American culture, traditions and society.  From the Blue Ridge Mountains to Atlanta, Georgia you will experience cultural exchange and an intern/training program that will enhance your hospitality career and make you a stand-out candidate upon return to your home country.
