COVID-19

At Yummy Jobs we want to make your international experience as streamlined as possible but sometimes there are occasions that can fall out of our control. Below you will find the latest updates collated from YJ and the employers that we work with in regards to the coronavirus pandemic.

J1 Intern & Trainee 6 and 12-month Programs

Current Participants
Following the advice of our visa sponsor partners, Yummy Jobs has advised all current participants on the J1 Intern/Trainee Program to return home. The health, safety and wellbeing of our participants is our number one priority and with borders rapidly closing we are advising students to act fast. Once a flight has been booked please inform the visa sponsor and Yummy Jobs.

As it stands, there is the potential option to return to the US until the end date on your DS-2019 form, with possible extension. This is subject to change but please keep in touch with the Yummy Jobs team and your visa sponsor.

Future Participants
Following the President of the United States' recent Proclamation, the earliest we aim to have participants arrive in the USA to begin their Intern/Trainee Program will be January 1st, 2021. This is subject to change. All participants with start dates before January 1st have been notified, but if you did not receive this communication please reach out to the Yummy Jobs team. If your Program was due to begin after January 1st, then we will be continuing as normal and are excited to have you arrive as planned. If you have any specific questions please reach out to the Yummy Jobs team.

Summer Work & Travel
As a result of the continuing situation with Covid-19, President Trump issued an official proclamation that temporarily suspended the J1 Visa Program in the USA for the remainder of 2020. As a direct result of this proclamation, this means that there is no opportunity to take part on a Summer Work Travel Program this year.

All  Summer Work and Travel Programs have been deferred to Summer 2021. As soon as recruitment for 2021 opens, we will announce it via social media.

If anything changes, the Yummy Jobs Team will update you, and in the meantime don’t hesitate to reach out to alexis@yummyjobs.com.
