Swiss Education Academy’s World of Culinary Arts, World of Hospitality Programmes, gives DofE Gold Students the opportunity to explore their interests, unlock new passions, achieve the required development and make new friends in one of the most beautiful countries in the world, so why not undertake your residency in beautiful Switzerland?

Our dynamic Swiss summer programmes take a holistic approach to participants’ growth – blending engaging, hands-on learning with experiences that boost confidence and create lasting memories.

Our programmes will be the required 4 nights/5 days, with excursions and activities to meet your DofE Gold residency requirements.

YOUR EXPERIENCE
 
This unique programme gives young people the opportunity to learn all about culinary arts – and have a whole lot of fun at the same time!
 
The programme gives participants a global view of the culinary industry and the opportunity to learn in our state-of-the-art demonstration kitchens. You will be given insights into how a professional kitchen works, prepare a variety of dishes and desserts – with a focus on chocolate and pastry.
 
There are many exciting excursions that have a focus on adventure, and every evening you will enjoy themed entertainment.

CLASS ATMOSPHERE
 
Hospitality, also known as the art of welcoming guests, is today’s fastest globally growing industry. It opens a great number of career opportunities around the world. To succeed in this domain, you will need leadership abilities, entrepreneurship and excellent communication skills.
 
TEACHING FACILITIES
 
Our teaching facilities in Montreux and Le Bouveret are modern and offer great learning conditions for the contemporary hospitality trade, with brand new demonstration kitchens.
 
CERTIFICATE
 
At the end of your stay, you will be awarded a certificate, mentioning the learning programme you participated in. It will help you in your future studies and the building of your career.
 
LEVEL OF ENGLISH
 
Swiss Education Academy does not require any official proof of your level of English. However, all classes are taught in English, so we encourage you to make sure that you will be able to follow, for your own comfort.
 
THE TEACHERS
 
Most of our teachers work as instructors at Swiss Education Group schools all year round but we also work with several specialists whom we invite to share their knowledge and experience.
 
TEACHING METHODS
 
Teachers are encouraged to use flexible and diverse teaching methods and techniques. Classes include theoretical knowledge and practice work. You will have the opportunity to work on both individual and group projects. There will be approximately 12 students per culinary class.
 
COURSE STRUCTURE
 
Classes are taught in the morning, from 8:30 to 12:30, Monday to Friday. Some classes are not taught on a weekly basis, please consult the application form for more information.
 
This week gives a broad overview of the World of Hospitality, how the industry works, and how it is structured. 
 
Events Planning | Weddings and conferences, Music & Food Festivals
 
Dream of organising a large-scale unique event, being able to think creatively, and having a thorough knowledge of the events industry,? You can plan an event from beginning to end.

LOCATION
 
Montreux is set on the shores of Lake Geneva in the heart of the Swiss Riviera, with stunning views of the Alps and the terraced vineyards of Lavaux. Benefiting from a unique microclimate, the city has an undeniable Mediterranean flair. The region is especially rich in cultural events, including the unmissable Montreux Jazz Festival. Montreux is the perfect starting point to explore Lake Geneva or go hiking in the nearby Alps.
 
ACCOMMODATION IN MONTREUX
 
Students stay in the Freddie Mercury building, in the heart of Montreux. Swiss Education Group inaugurated the building in 2018, and all amenities are state of the art. It is ideally located in the center of Montreux, near the train station and a 5-minute walk from the lake. The building accommodates students from Swiss Hospitality Club and Swiss Culinary Club.
 
In Montreux, students stay in double rooms included in the price of the programme. Each room has its own private bathroom and is cleaned by onsite personnel once a week during the stay.
 
ACCOMMODATION IN LE BOUVERET
 
The Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland campus offers kitchen facilities of the highest standards. It is located on the bank of Lake Geneva, with a splendid view of the Vaud Riviera. It is dedicated to students from the Swiss Culinary Club programme, with the company providing transportation for the daily commute.
