Spend your Summer in beautiful Rhode Island! Ocean House is an incredible property, beautifully positioned beachside, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Ocean House is part of the global prestigious Relais and Châteaux group and also has the honour of being Forbes triple Five-Star rated, one of only eleven properties around the world to hold this title. Also included with the program is the chance to work at the luxurious Weekapaug Inn, a sister property of Ocean House located within five miles, perched on the Rhode Island shoreline.

On this program, you will spend your summer working in Rhode Island, earning a competitive hourly wage based on your job position. Participants will work in one of the following roles:

  • Food and Beverage Operations
  • Hotel Front Desk
  • Retail Associates
  • Spa Attendant
  • Pool Attendant and Activities
  • Housekeeping

Participants will be paid an hourly wage depending upon role and/or location. This ranges from $4.50 USD per hour for tipped positions, and from $10.50 USD per hour for non-tipped positions. Participants will be guaranteed a minimum of 32 hours per week, however typical work schedules will be between 32-45 hours per week. 

As a participant on this program you will spend your summer working for a world leading hospitality brand, Relais and Châteaux. Here, you will be located at one of the following properties;

  • Ocean House
  • Weekapaug Inn

Pre-arranged company housing is provided by Relais and Châteaux and is a mandatory requirement for program participants. Rent is charged at $100 USD per week and will be automatically deducted from payroll. Accommodation costs are fully inclusive of bills and internet connection. Participants will be required to live in shared accommodation for the duration of the program, sharing a room with between one to three program participants.

Company housing is located up to 5 miles from the host properties. Company transportation is provided to and from the work location at no cost.

OCEAN HOUSE

Ocean House sits high on the bluffs of Watch Hill, Rhode Island, overlooking a private stretch of beach with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean, Montauk and Block Island.  Inspired by the Victorian architecture prevalent in the great houses of the Watch Hill area, the Ocean House evokes a timeless elegance that captures the residential ambiance of the area’s turn of the century summer estates.  As one of only eight Forbes Triple Five Star resorts in the world, this beachfront Relais & Châteaux property features 49 guest rooms and suites and 18 Signature Suites, farm-to-table casual and fine dining, the impeccable 12,000-square-foot OH! Spa and more than 10,000 square feet of event space.

WEEKAPAUG INN

Reopened in fall of 2012 after a $20 million renovation, Weekapaug Inn is located in the peaceful community of Weekapaug, Rhode Island, with sweeping views of Quonochontaug Pond and the Atlantic Ocean just beyond. Inspired by classic Cape Cod style, the building is covered with red cedar shingles, accented by dark brown trim and red shutters. The property features 31 guest rooms, including four two-bedroom Signature Suites, with farm-to-table fine and casual dining, and boutique event space. In January 2013, just three months after opening, Weekapaug Inn was invited into the prestigious Relais & Châteaux association.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PROGRAM, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
  • Speak fluent English.
  • Be currently enrolled in full time education within the U.K or Ireland, studying towards a Foundation, Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree.
  • Have successfully completed at least one full semester of study before the program commences. Candidates can also participate on this program immediately following their final year of study.
  • Be available for the full program duration. The summer programs run from June - September each year.
  • Students from Europe should contact the Yummy Jobs Team prior to completing an application for further eligibility requirements.

APPLICATION DATES

  • We are now accepting applications for this program for Summer 2019!
  • Applicants are required to be available for the full program dates in order to be considered. The program runs from June - September each year (to be confirmed for Summer 2019).

INTERVIEWING PROCESS

  • We will begin interviewing for this program from October 2018 onwards.
  • If your application is successful, you will be invited to attend an online interview with a member of the Yummy Jobs Team via Skype.
  • If successful, candidates will then be invited to a final interview with a member of the Ocean House Management team via Skype.
  • We will begin reaching out to candidates with invitations to interview in October 2018.

Participants on the Ocean House Management Collection Program will be required to submit the following fees (after acceptance of an offer):

PROGRAM FEE

£985.00 GBP - 3-month Full Placement Program Fee inclusive of Visa Sponsorship, Medical Insurance, U.S SEVIS Fee, Background Check Application, Pre-arrival Support, Pre-arranged Job and Pre-arranged Housing.

ADDITIONAL FEES FOR SUMMER 2019

  • U.S. Embassy appointment fee = $160.00 USD
  • Flights to the United States = Varies

POST ARRIVAL FEES

  • Weekly accommodation costs = $100.00 USD per week (automatic payroll deduction)
  • Additional supporting funds between $350.00 - $750.00 USD are recommended
