Nicola's Adventure
Nicola is one of our 12-month program participants at The Old Edwards Inn & Spa Resort in North Carolina. Here is what she has had to say about her experience through Yummy Jobs:
"I have loved every minute of working at Old Edwards Inn and Spa. I was unsure what to expect coming to a small mountain town in North Carolina but I am so glad I chose this hidden gem! Working with Yummy Jobs made the process easy and comfortable, always approachable if any doubts arise.
The company-run employee excursions are a bonus of working at Old Edwards - from white water rafting, trips to theme parks or football games in Atlanta it is always a fun time! Working at this Relais and Chateaux property has given me an insight into the hospitality world and has opened many doors for when I return to the UK. It has been an honour to work for a company that really is a family and always takes care of it's employees and J1 interns. I have definitely made friends for life and already can't wait to come back and visit!"
The Old Edwards Inn J-1 Intern and Training Program provides university students and young professionals with the opportunity to train in the United States for a period of up to 12 months. This program provides access to a AAA Four Diamond property, providing a unique insight into business practices that make Old Edwards Inn the number 2 resort in the USA. The program provides on-the-job exposure within the following hospitality roles:
- Food and Beverage
- Rooms Division
- Culinary Arts
In addition to this unique learning experience, participants are able to increase their knowledge of and exposure to American culture, traditions and society.
