INTERN WITH MOHONK IN AN EXCITING NEW 12-MONTH PASTRY OR CULINARY ARTS PROGRAM!

This exciting new internship/training program offers students the opportunity to train at Mohonk Mountain House, steeped in history and 90 miles north of New York City in the beautiful town of New Paltz. On this program we are hiring for both Culinary Arts and also a dedicated pastry program where culinary arts/pastry students will move through their structured training programs in various disciplines.

Culinary Arts
 
The culinary arts program with Mohonk allows the candidate to participate in a 12-month culinary arts program on property with Mohonk Mountain House Retreat. Candidates will rotate around a structured training plan spending a few months in each discipline during their paid placement.

This program offers talented individuals to participate in a speciality program in pastry and chocolates with Mohonk Mountain House Retreat in New York. In this program, successful candidates will rotate positions on a paid training program around different culinary operations on the property and learn from the best!

The pay rate for these programs is $20 USD per hour, and you will be scheduled to work a minimum of 32 hours per week.
 
Program Offer Specifics: Mohonk offers Payroll Deduction ($1,000 fee upfront by student; $3,000 paied by Mohonk; Student reimburses $2,500)

  • Just 2-hours from New York City (cultural excursions to the city provided often)
 
Participants in this program will be required to obtain a J-1 Intern or Trainee visa through Yummy Jobs and will be able to train for a period of time as outlined by Mohonk. Upon completion of the program, participants will have up to 30 days to travel within the United States. Participants must then return to their home country upon completion of the program.

Audrey Billups. Culinary Institute of America Grad ’04. Worked as pastry Sous Chef at Michelin starred Marea and Ai Fiori in New York City, and was Pastry Chef at Jean-Georges Topping Rose House in the Hamptons prior to coming to Mohonk in 2019. Furnished Dorm-style housing; limited single units  are available as part of this program. Program participants will also receive three meals per day included in this rent price. This is charged at the below rates.
  • $86.50/week for Culinary/Pastry/F&B, $98.00/week (half for shared rooms)

INTERVIEW PROCESS

  • Applicants will be required to attend a pre-screen interview via video call with a member of the Yummy Jobs Team in order to be considered.​
  • If successful, applicants will be required to attend a final interview with the Mohonk HR Team via video call.
