The Old Edwards Inn and Spa Hospitality Training Program provides university students and young professionals with the opportunity to train in the United States for a period of up to 12-months. This Program provides access to a AAA Four Diamond property, providing a unique insight into business practices that make Old Edwards Inn & Spa the #14 resort in the USA (Travel & Leisure Awards, 2017). The program provides on-the-job exposure within the following hospitality roles:
Food and Beverage
Program participants will earn $12.00-$14.00 USD per hour ($2.13 per hour plus tips for Food and Beverage Service) and will be provided with at least 32 hours work per week.
Fully-furnished housing is provided by Old Edwards Inn and Spa, and will cost $150.00 USD per week (automatic payroll deduction). Participants will be required to share a room with one other person on the program, and housing is located a short walking distance from your work location. Upon arrival into the USA, you will be greeted by a member of the Old Edwards Inn and Spa team and transported to your housing.

Participants on the Old Edwards Inn training and internship program will be able to experience a range of unique cultural exchange activities. As part of your program, the Old Edwards Team will schedule several employee outings, from trips to nearby Atlanta for baseball games to Six Flags theme parks, the Old Edwards Team want to ensure you experience the American culture through a mixture of activites that enhance your international experience.

In addition to the training experience you will undergo with Old Edwards Inn, participants are able to increase their knowledge of and exposure to American culture, traditions and society. From the Blue Ridge Mountains to Atlanta, Georgia you will experience cultural exchange and an intern/training program that will enhance your hospitality career and make you a stand-out candidate upon return to your home country.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PROGRAM AS A J-1, YOU MUST:
- Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
- Speak fluent English.
- Be available for a 6 or 12-month contract.
YOU MUST ALSO MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
- Be currently enrolled in full-time education at a University outside of the United States.
- Studying towards an undergraduate degree in Hospitality, Leisure or Tourism OR have graduated from these studies no more than 12 months prior to your program start date.
- Be a graduate from an undergraduate degree in Hospitality, Leisure or Tourism PLUS at least one year of related work experience in this industry. This experience must have been obtained outside of the United States.
- If you have not studied at University level, you must have at least five-years work experience in the industry to qualify. This experience must have been obtained outside of the United States.

- If successful, applicants will be required to attend a final interview with the Old Edwards Inn & Spa HR Team via video call.

Participants on the Old Edwards Inn and Spa Internship Program will be required to submit the following fees (after acceptance of an offer):
£2,250.00 GBP - 6-month full Placement Program Fee inclusive of Visa Sponsorship, Medical Insurance, U.S SEVIS Fee, Pre-arrival Support and Pre-arranged Job.
£2,850.00 GBP - 12-month full Placement Program Fee inclusive of Visa Sponsorship, Medical Insurance, U.S SEVIS Fee, Pre-arrival Support and Pre-arranged Job.
ADDITIONAL FEES FOR 2021
U.S. Embassy appointment fee = $160.00 USD
Return flight to the United States = Varies
POST ARRIVAL FEES
Weekly accommodation costs = $150.00 USD per week (automatic payroll deduction)
Additional supporting funds between $350.00 - $750.00 USD are recommended
