The Biltmore Estate is famous in the USA for being the country’s largest privately owned residence, with an award-winning winery, a four star, four diamond Inn, and six full-service restaurants that feature produce and meats obtained from the estate itself. Not only this, but the Biltmore Estate welcomes over one million guests every year and prides itself on providing first class customer service and exceptional dining experiences.
 
As a Rooms Division Intern/Trainee on the Biltmore Estate program you will be exposed to all areas of hotel operations, allowing you the perfect opportunity to enhance your existing abilities, develop brand new skills and also challenge yourself all within the same 12-month program.

As a Biltmore Rooms Division intern, you will be exposed to Biltmore’s luxurious and award-winning hotels and will be rotated (every 2-3 months) through Front Desk, Guest Service, and Concierge, in order to gain optimum training. Interns will train in all areas of the hotel rooms division environment and will be mentored by each location’s hotel management team. Knowledge and experience in Lodging will be gained in areas such front desk, PBX communications, valet dispatch, bell services, night auditing, Rev/PAR management and other areas of interest in the luxurious and world-renowned Inn on Biltmore Estate or Village Hotel on Biltmore Estate.
 
Spotlight on: Hospitality Internships
 
 
J-1 interns are paid on a weekly basis and are guaranteed full time (32+) hours each week. Schedules will vary throughout a 7-day workweek. Rate of pay will be offered at $12.50 USD per hour. All Interns also enjoy a generous employee discount, shift meals, 2 complimentary Biltmore Estate admission tickets, and many other perks! Uniforms are provided.
 
Company housing is provided; including complete furnishings, utilities, outdoor pool, cable/Wi-Fi, fitness center, laundry facilities and other amenities. Apartments are shared with 2 other program participants and accommodation costs are payroll deducted - housing costs are $100.00 USD per week. Optional housekeeping services are available at an additional weekly cost of $25.00 USD.
 
Daily transportation to and from the student housing and training locations is available for a weekly cost of $10.00 USD. This transportation will be via a company van and driver service that work on a set schedule that will be provided during student orientation. Upon arrival into the U.S.A, the Biltmore team will greet you at Asheville/ Hendersonville Airport and provide transportation to your program housing.
 
Participants on this program will be required to obtain a J-1 Intern or Trainee visa through Yummy Jobs and will be able to train for a period of time as outlined by the Biltmore Estate. Upon completion of the program, participants will have up to 30 days to travel within the United States. Participants must then return to their home country upon completion of the program.

North Carolina sits on the East Coast of the United States of America, and boasts a number of desirable and enticing attractions. From the rustic wilderness of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Appalachians, to a 300 mile stretch of barrier island beaches that overlook the Atlantic Ocean, North Carolina is a fantastic location if you are looking to put yourself at the heart of American Culture.

The Biltmore Estate is located around a 15-minute drive from downtown Asheville: a city renowned for both its culinary and arts scenes, as well as its proximity to natural wonders such as waterfalls and forests, not to mention mountains that are filled with over 100 different wildlife species.

Participants in the Biltmore Internship programs get the opportunity to sharpen their culinary, hospitality, and guest relation skills at America’s largest home! Biltmore’s training programs give participants a chance to challenge themselves and develop their skills in many different cuisines and settings.The Biltmore Estate is home to 6 full-service restaurants whose menus feature fresh produce and meats from the estate itself, as well as wines from the award-winning winery. Many of the restaurants are “green certified” and have an extensive sustainability program including canola production, solar energy and various field to table production/agricultural programs.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PROGRAM AS A J-1 INTERN, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
  • Speak fluent English.
  • Be available for a 12-month contract.
  • Be currently enrolled in full-time education at a University outside of the United States.
  • Studying towards an undergraduate degree in a Tourism, Hospitality or Events related subject OR have graduated from these studies no more than 12 months prior to your program start date.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PROGRAM AS A J-1 TRAINEE, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
  • Speak fluent English.
  • Be available for a 12-month contract.
  • Be a graduate from an undergraduate degree in a Tourism, Hospitality or Events related subject PLUS at least one year of related work experience in this industry. This experience must have been obtained outside of the United States. 
  • If you have not studied at University level, you must have at least five-years work experience in the tourism/hospitality industry to qualify. This experience must have been obtained outside of the United States. 

APPLICATION DATES

  • Applications for the Biltmore Estate Program for 2018/2019 are open.
  • Applicants are required to be available for a full 12-month contract in order to be considered.
  • We currently have start dates available in 2018 and throughout 2019.

INTERVIEWING PROCESS

  • Pre-screen interviews with the Yummy Jobs Team will take place via Skype. Applicants will be required to attend an interview with a member of the Yummy Jobs Team in order to be considered.
  • If successful, applicants will then be invited to a final interview with a member of the Biltmore Estate team via Skype.

Participants on the Biltmore Estate Program will be required to submit the following fees (after acceptance of an offer):

PROGRAM FEE

£2,600.00 GBP - 12-month full Placement Program Fee inclusive of Visa Sponsorship, Medical Insurance, U.S SEVIS Fee, Pre-arrival Support and Pre-arranged Job.

ADDITIONAL FEES FOR 2019

  • U.S. Embassy appointment fee = $160.00 USD
  • Flights to the United States = Varies

POST ARRIVAL FEES

  • Weekly accommodation costs = $100.00 USD per week (Payroll deducted)
  • Transportation to and from work (optional) = $10.00 USD per week
  • Additional supporting funds between $350.00 - $750.00 USD are recommended
