The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin J-1 Intern and Training Program provides university students and young professionals with the opportunity to train in the United States for a period of up to 12 months. This program provides a unique insight into the business practices that make the properties two of the most sought after hospitality experiences in the United States of America.  The program provides on-the-job training exposure in the following hospitality roles:

  • Culinary Arts
  • Rooms Division

In addition to this unique training experience, participants are able to increase their knowledge of and exposure to American culture, traditions and society. From the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort to exploring everything Florida has to offer, this program will provide you with cultural exchange experiences as well as training that will set you up for future success in the hospitality industry worldwide. Intern and training opportunities never looked so good!

Participants on the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin training and internship program will be able to experience unique cultural exchange activities. As part of your program the property will schedule a range of employee activities such as volunteering and team events.  In addition, your program experience takes place right in the heart of Walt Disney World Resort providing you access to world class theme parks and entertainment experiences. Orlando is the entertainment capital of the world, and a perfect setting your unique cultural experience.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PROGRAM AS A J-1 INTERN, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
  • Speak fluent English.
  • Be available for a 12-month contract.
  • Be currently enrolled in full-time education at a University outside of the United States.
  • Studying towards an undergraduate degree in a Tourism, Hospitality, Events or Culinary related subject OR have graduated from these studies no more than 12 months prior to your program start date.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PROGRAM AS A J-1 TRAINEE, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
  • Speak fluent English.
  • Be available for a 12-month contract.
  • Be a graduate from an undergraduate degree in a Tourism, Hospitality, Events or Culinary related subject PLUS at least one year of related work experience in this industry. This experience must have been obtained outside of the United States. 
  • If you have not studied at University level, you must have at least five-years work experience in the tourism/hospitality industry to qualify. This experience must have been obtained outside of the United States. 

APPLICATION DATES

  • Applications for the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort for 2018/2019 are now open!
  • Applicants are required to be available for a full 12-month contract in order to be considered.
  • We currently have start dates available in January, April, August, and November 2019.

INTERVIEWING PROCESS

  • Interviews with the Yummy Jobs Team will take place via Skype.
  • Applicants will be required to attend a pre-screen interview via Skype with a member of the Yummy Jobs Team in order to be considered.

Participants on the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort Internship and Training Program will be required to submit the following fees:

PROGRAM FEE

£2,500.00 GBP - 12-month full Placement Program Fee inclusive of Visa Sponsorship, Medical Insurance, Pre-arrival and Arrivals Support, Pre-arranged Job and Pre-arranged Housing.

ADDITIONAL FEES FOR 2018

  • Criminal Background Check fee = £85.00 GBP
  • U.S. Embassy appointment fee = $160.00 USD
  • U.S Sevis Fee = $190.00 USD
  • Courier delivery of passport = Free to £30.00 GBP
  • Return flight to the United States = £300 to £600 GBP (approximately)
  • Housing pre-payment = First 4-weeks of rent plus 4-weeks holding deposit

POST ARRIVAL FEES

  • Weekly accommodation costs = $135.00 USD per week (payments every 4 weeks)
  • Additional supporting funds between $350.00 - $750.00 USD are recommended
