In this program, participants will be located at locations within Universal Orlando Resort, including front of house and back of house areas. On this program, we currently offer the following positions:
  • Quick Service Food and Beverage Attendant
  • Park Services Attendant

Participants will be guaranteed a minimum of 32 hours per week*, and will be paid $18.50 per hour. Typical work schedules can be up to 40 hours per week, and we advise participants to budget based on recieving 32 hours per week. Participants locations and positions are assigned based on business need, and not on personal request. Participants should be willing to work in any of the assigned locations throughout the Universal Orlando Resort.

Participants will be provided with a range of benefits throughout their program, including free admission to Universal Studios Florida®, Universal Islands of Adventure®, SeaWorld® and Busch Gardens® theme parks, along with great discounts on merchandise, food & beverage and access to discounted park admission tickets for family and friends. 
 
 
Participants in this program will be required to obtain a J-1 Summer Work and Travel visa through Yummy Jobs and will be able to work for a period of time as outlined by Univesal Orlando Resort. Upon completion of the program, participants will have up to 30 days to travel within the United States. Participants must then return to their home country upon completion of the program.
*During the first 1-2 weeks of the program, participants may not work an entire 32 hour week due to training and orientation schedules. 

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PROGRAM, YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE WHOLE PROGRAM DURATION 

  • Canada: May to August (TBC)
  • Mexico: Late May to August (TBC)
  • United Kingdom: June to September (TBC)

In order to be considered, applicants must provide following information clearly on their CV:
  • Course and level of study, and whether your course is full time or part time
  • Start and end date of Course (month and year is sufficient)
  • University currently attended

INTERVIEWING PROCESS

  • Selected applicants will receive an invitation to schedule a virtual pre-screen interview.
  • Successful candidates will be invited to schedule a final virtual interview with the employer.

OFFER & VISA APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Successful candidates will be emailined their program offer following a succesful final interview
  • Once program has been accepted, the visa application process will begin
  • Participants are required to submit documentation to the visa sponsor, including a student status letter confirming studies (template provided with offer documentation)
  • As part of this program, participants will obtain a J1 Summer Work and Travel visa via Yummy Jobs and our US Department of State approved Visa Sponsor. Participants will be required to attend an in-person US Embassy appointment. Full guidance is provided by Yummy Jobs and the Visa Sponsor.
  • Students will be required to attend an in-person appointment at a US Embassy. This will usually take place 1-2 months prior to program start date. 

On the Summer Work and Travel program, participants can chose to either enter into the pre-arranged housing option, or self-source their accomodation.

Pre-Arranged Housing:

The Yummy Jobs Team provides pre-arranged housing for program participants in partnership with 100 Abode. Accommodation costs are fully inclusive of bills, utilities, use of resort facilities and Wi-Fi. Participants will be required to share a room with 3 participants per room (same gender). Housing is nearby to Universal Orlando Resort and working locations can be accessible either by foot, taxi/Uber/Lyft or public bus. Each room has shared amenties, such as bathroom, mircowave, fridge, TV and wardrobe space. Participants must pay a housing pre-payment fee six weeks before program arrival, and are required to sign a housing agreement.

Full information regarding pre-arranged housing, is provided upon invitation to a pre-screen interview with the Yummy Jobs team.

 

Self-sourced Housing:

Participants are able to source their own accomodation, subject to visa sponsor guidelines. Self-sourced accomodation is reviewed on a case-by-case basis by Yummy Jobs and the visa sponsor, and is subject to an additional $50 vetting charge by the visa sponsor. Guidelines for self-sourced accomodation are subject to change.

If participants are interested in self-sourced housing, they are required to let the Yummy Jobs team know this as soon as possible. It is the participants responsibility to ensure all information about any self-sourced housing requests as accurate and truthful.
