There are few places in the world quite a special as North California. The Pacific Coast Highway twists along the coastline, Giant Sequoia’s stretch 280ft into the sky and the undulating vineyards of the Napa Wine valley stretch endlessly into the distance. Not to mention the technological wonder that is Silicon Valley, nor the trolley cars, sloping hills and picturesque painted ladies of my all-time favorite city in the USA – San Francisco.

Which is why I am incredibly excited to announce that we are now offering brand new programs with Woodside Hotel Group – a Northern California based operator of hotels, restaurants and spas with over 45 years of experience!

The origins of this company first started when a young, East Coast couple journeyed to California in search of opportunity, sunshine and dreams. They invested their life’s savings into a small motor lodge perched on a picturesque bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and thus the beginnings of Woodside Hotel Group were born. Today, it is the second generation of the family, who themselves grew up amongst the magical getaways dotted throughout California, who are leading the way with Woodside Hotel Group – and they are filled with just as much wanderlust and wonder as their predecessors.

Sitting right on the edge of the crashing surf of the Pacific Ocean, Monterey Bay Plaza Hotel & Spa offers guests an authentic California Coast experience. With oceanfront rooms, an award-winning rooftop spa and a chef-driven restaurant, it is no surprise that Monterey Bay Plaza Hotel & Spa is ranked as #1 on TripAdvisor in Monterey. Spend your internship learning from some of the best in the business, whilst developing your already existing hospitality skills. And on your days off, take a boat into the bay in search of whales, or take the short trip to Moss Landing in search of adorable sea otters. We are currently offering hospitality placement opportunities in Food & Beverage, Rooms Division and Culinary, with start dates in August 2018.

Next, we have Stanford Park Hotel resting in the heart of Silicon Valley, only moments away from the world-famous Stanford University Campus and located perfectly between the thriving cities of San Francisco and San Jose. This luxury hotel steeped in collegiate spirit offers a moment of escape in the heart of Menlo Park – a vibrant town with picturesque, tree-lined streets. Here, you will find yourself working in a AAA Four Diamond resort, and Menlo Park’s #1 rated hotel. We are currently offering hospitality placements for Rooms Division, Food & Beverage and Culinary intern/trainees with flexible start dates in 2018!

Following on we have Indian Springs, which rests on the northern edge of the Napa Valley in Calistoga. Indian Springs is a historic spa resort, and is California’s oldest continuously operated pool and spa facility. Dotted around the seventeen acres of land are four thermal geysers which produce mineral rich water used in the pool and steam room, and volcanic ash which helps to create Indian Springs’ famous mud baths – this resort truly is rooted in the traditions of the land. At present, we have hospitality placement opportunities in Food & Beverage and Rooms Division, with flexible start dates in 2018.

Finally, perched atop a tranquil ridge overlooking the Sonoma Coast, Bodega Bay Lodge reflects the wild beauty of this romantic region of North California. There’s the chance to spot migrating whales amongst the waves and even rare bird species – in fact, Alfred Hitchcock filmed his famous The Birds in Bodega Bay! But famous film locations aside, Bodega Bay Lodge is an authentic coastal retreat and boasts outdoor fire pits, stunning ocean views and an artisanal approach to their spa. We currently have hospitality placements available for Rooms Division programs commencing in August 2018.
