Yummy Jobs has partnered up with San Diego State University to offer this one-of-a-kind work-study experience. Join world-class education with a world-renowned hospitality training provider.
Our Hospitality Programs in the USA provide university students and young professionals with the opportunity to train in the United States for a period of up to 12 months. They allow participants access to some of the finest hospitality brands in the world, providing a unique insight into business practices that make the United States the ultimate hospitality destination for guests from all over the world.
On this unique training experience, students will have the opportunity to train at one of the following locations:
Walt Disney World's Swan & Dolphin Resort, Orlando, Florida
Leave the everyday behind and enter a world of wonder and enchantment at the Walt Disney World® Resort. Located in the heart of the most magical place on earth, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort provides a truly extraordinary backdrop for an Orlando vacation or meeting. Beautiful tropical landscaping, tranquil waterways and classic art and architecture work together to create a stunning landmark in the midst of one of the most spectacular places on earth.
Salary: $16.40 USD per hour
Housing: Whilst taking part in this program the participant will be responsible for sourcing their own housing, we can provide resources or where to look.
Mohonk Mountain House, New Paltz, New York
Welcome to the Mohonk Mountain House! This iconic resort sits in Hudson Valley, 90 miles north of New York City. Founded in 1869, this historic landmark resort is surrounded by 40,000 acres of pristine forest.
Mohonk encompasses a love of nature, preservation of history and a respect for the world around us. Five US presidents have also visited the resort.
Salary: $16 - $20 per hour
Housing: Furnished Dorm-style housing; single units w/ private bathrooms are provided as part of this program. Program participants will also receive three meals per day included in this rent price. This is charged at the below rates.

Gaylord Opryland Nashville
Expect an extraordinary experience at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center; the largest, non-gaming hotel in the United States! Featuring 2,888 stylish guestrooms, 700,000 modern square feet in meeting space, and over 9 acres of gardens and waterways underneath signature glass atriums. The resort features multiple restaurants and shopping opportunities for guests right under their roof.
Salary: $16 - $16.50 per hour
Housing: Whilst taking part in this program the participant will be responsible for sourcing their own housing, we can provide resources or where to look.
You will be able to stay at the hotel for two weeks, with a special rate of $60.00 USD per night ($30.00 USD if there are 2 people in the room), after arrival to ensure that you have time to find suitable accommodation.
Sea Island
Sea Island is located on five miles of private beach on the southeastern coast of Georgia and is well-known as an exceptional destination, offering discerning guests gracious service and heartfelt hospitality. It is the only resort in the world to have received four Forbes Five-Star awards for 12 consecutive years. Site of a G-8 Summit of world leaders, Sea Island provides exceptional settings and services for conferences and executive retreats.
Salary: $12.00 - $20.00 per hour
Housing: Housing for this program is provided by Sea Island, you will be housed as well as sharing a room with fellow program participants in a fully furnished house or apartment complex.
Housing is payroll deducted at a rate of $12.50 USD per day inclusive of all utilities*.

On this program, you will pursue a two-week educational and cultural experience with SDSU where you will be provided with enrichment classes to further your learning. The enhanced program with SDSU includes the following education/support.

Pre-arrival online hospitality English

Pre-arrival online US work culture orientation and internship preparedness

Services of SDSU faculty during the internship and online classes

SDSU certificate of Internship Completion (a final presentation is required to receive this)

After this enriching educational experience, you will go on to train on a rotational program in one of the following departments.
Rooms division
On a rooms division program, you will be exposed to all elements of hotel rooms division operations. During this rotational role, you are provided with training in guest services, concierge and front desk.
Food and Beverage
On a food and beverage program, you will be exposed to all elements of all food and beverage operations. During this rotational role, you are provided with training in resort dining, in-room dining, fine dining, events and banqueting, and a la carte dining.
Culinary Arts
On a culinary arts program, you will be exposed to all elements of all culinary arts operations. During this rotational role, you are provided with training in fine dining, Garde manger, and events and banqueting.
Pastry
On a pastry program, you will be exposed to all elements of pastry chef operations. Including pastry and chocolate rotations.

SDSU is the most established and largest university in the San Diego region (third largest in California), and impacts every aspect of life here like no other institution in the community.
SDSU has noteworthy programs in many fields, including business administration, engineering, public health, telecommunications, and public administration. It is also home to the largest library in the California State University System. As part of SDSU, the American Language Institute (ALI) is able to offer its student's many benefits, including those listed below.

ALI students can enrol in university-level classes as well as ALI English classes, depending on the student's program and English level. Qualified students can earn college credit for these classes without going through the SDSU admissions process.

American Language Institute students have many of the same privileges as degree-seeking SDSU students, including access to the campus bookstore, library, cafeterias, restaurants, SDSU Health Services Center and campus sports activities and clubs.
SDSU offers bachelor's degrees in 81 fields, master's degrees in 73 and doctoral degrees in 20, is home to top-ranking programs in business, psychology, biology, geography, education, social work, speech-language, public administration, and many other fields of study.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PROGRAM AS A J-1 INTERN, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
- Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application
- Speak conversational to fluent English
- Be available for a 12-month contract
- Be currently enrolled in full-time education at a University outside of the United States
- Studying towards an undergraduate degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or Culinary Arts OR have graduated from these studies no more than 12 months prior to your program start date
